Storage Devices

USB/Flash Drive

Flash Drives are small data storage devices. They are very small and handy to carry around with you. You can get many different sizes so this can help you with changing you images as it will take up a lot of memory so you don't have to save it on your computer.

Disk Drive (RAM/Cache)

A disk drive is a device that reads or writes data onto a disk. Each drive operates by a spinning a disk and reading data from it using a laser.

External Hard Drive

External Hard Drive allows you to save your work on external memory. This means that you connect it to your computer and save your images directly onto it. This is good for manipulating your images as changing the images in any way means the size of the file will get larger. This means you can also have your work with you not just at one computer.

Flash Cards

A flash card is used in digital cameras to store your images digitally. You can then put the flashcard into your computer and move all your images to the computer. This is good for manipulating images as you can change the way they look from the original photo on the computer.
